You Need This Help

We all can do with help in different aspects of our lives, health and fitness is no different. What exactly does this help look like, where do you access it and how does it work?

Well it is not as complex as you might think. The first step to living a healthier lifestyle is surrounding yourself with people who support you and also work hard to chase their own goals. There is nothing more contagious than determined efforts when you are surrounded by it constantly. When the going gets tough and your mind tells you “hey, let’s just back off for a few days” it’s those who lead with strong actions that motivate you to keep going, it might not be with everything you have but you are still going and that is the most important thing. The help we are referring to is your support network where you train, the people there understand the challenges you face day to day, they just finished work too and are thinking of what they will organise for dinner, they have exams tomorrow and they are where you are to work on their health and fitness. Within your support network everyday are your coaches, the people who understand not everyday is a great day for you, the ones who see when you need a word of an encouragement and they put forward their best efforts to help you be better. Just like your friends working out with you, your coaches care about your progress and want to see you improve. As a coach there is no better feeling than watching our members at Ariston improve, my skin is covered in goosebumps and my eyes do this strange thing like I am cutting up onions (you know what I mean).

So where do you get access to this amazing support network that helps you be better in many ways? CrossFit. This support network is made up of people from all walks of life and they all have different reasons for doing CrossFit. It seems simple doesn’t it? You may already have a great support network in your family and friends but this one is different in that the people here know your nervous feeling about the workout and they understand what it means to have turned up and gave it your best effort.

This help will make you better, it will make you turn up when you are tired. It will drive you to want to do your best to motivate the person next to you.

It helps you be better.

Please share this post so that you can help a friend discover a helping network to better their lives.

You know what gives me goosebumps? When a colleague says they are proud of you for having the guts to start something rewarding but scary… And then they ask you about CrossFit and what you do there.

I’m just a thirty-something mum fed up with being the unfit stereotype of my demographic. How could I possibly be inspiring to someone? Because I turn up and give it my best- and people respect that!

We are stoked to hear that you get those feelings Mel. Be proud of your efforts and keep going!
